چکیده
Introduction. Extramedullary sites of leukemic proliferation, harboring an adverse outcome, are rare and usually found in the blastic phase chronic myeloid leukemia. We report a case newly diagnosed patient with leukemia phase, infiltration right ovary on disease presentation. Case report. The presented abdominal pain, leukocytosis, anemia. A peripheral blood smear indicated leukemia, cytoreductive treatment was started. Due to worsening computed tomography done. It revealed cystic tumor ovary. surgically removed. Bone marrow examination confirmed diagnosis phase. Immunohistochemical analysis ovarian showed 5% blasts. treated imatinib for one year. failure, switched nilotinib. Allogeneic stem cell transplantation considered. Conclusion. This highlights critical role multidisciplinary team approach close monitoring achieve best possible outcome these patients.

The role of microRNA in acute/chronic, myeloid/lymphocytic leukemia
MicroRNAs are small, non-coding sequences that regulate gene expression by inducing degradation or translational inhibition of target mRNAs. These molecules control many intracellular physiological and pathological processes.Abnormal expression of these moleculs has been described in different cancers including hematopoietic cancers. According to the type of cancer and the stage, miRNA’s expres...
متن کاملPresentation of a case with perineal and bartholin gland inflammations as an initial manifestation of acute myeloid leukemia: case report
Background: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a malignant hematological disorder which has numerous manifestations at the initial step such as infections and hemorrhagic signs. This is the first report in which the diagnosis of AML was made after managing of Bartholin gland site swelling and pain as the chief complaint of a patient. Case presentation: Herein, we present a young girl who was refe...
متن کاملBilateral Proliferative Retinopathy as the Initial Presentation of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia
The authors report a rare case of a 48-year-old male with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) who initially presented with a bilateral proliferative retinopathy. The patient complained of recent visual loss and floaters in both eyes (BE). Ophthalmologic evaluation revealed a best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) of 20/50 in the right eye and 20/200 in the left eye (LE). Fundoscopy showed the presence ...
متن کاملA Case of Leukemic Pleural Infiltration in Atypical Chronic Myeloid Leukemia
Pleural effusion in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) is poorly understood and rarely reported in the literature. When the pleural effusion is caused by leukemic pleural infiltration, the differential white blood cell count of the effusion is identical to that of the peripheral blood, and the fluid cytology reveals leukemic blasts. We report here a case of bilateral pleural involvement of atypical...
متن کاملUnilateral Ptosis as Initial Manifestation of Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Abstract Background In Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), malignant clones of immature myeloid cells (primarily blasts) proliferate, replace bone marrow, circulate in blood and invade other tissues. The unique presentation of unilateral ptosis and unilateral eyelid swelling in AML has been reported during the present study. Case Report A 7-year-old girl was encountered with progressively increa...
